Northeastern University has made historic breakthroughs: six achievements won the 2019 annual National Science and Technology Prizes
On January 10, the 2019 annual National Science and Technology Awards Conference was grandly held in the Great Hall of the People in Beijing. The six achievements that Northeastern University led and participated in won the 2019 annual National Science and Technology Prizes Award. Among them, the two achievements that were mainly led by the university won the first prize of the National Science and Technology Progress and the second prize of the National Natural Science respectively, making a historic breakthrough since the establishment of the school.
The first prize of National Science and Technology Progress was awarded to the project "Development and Application of Key Technologies for High-quality Special Steel Green and High-efficiency Electroslag Remelting", which was completed by Northeast University as the first completer and the first unit. The main participants of Northeast University are Jiang Zhouhua, Dong Yanwu, Li Huabing, Geng Xin, Liu Fubin and Yu Qiang.
The project "The Theory and Application of Integrated Multi-objective Dynamic Optimal Decision-making and Control throughout the Production Process", which was led by Northeast University as the first completer and the first unit, won the second prize of National Natural Science. The main participants of Northeast University are Chai Tianyou, Tang Lixin, Liu Tengfei, Yang Guanghong and Wang Liangyong.
The project "Key Technology Integration and Industrial Demonstration of Lean Iron Ore Resource Utilization", which was led by Northeast University as the first unit, won the second prize of National Science and Technology Progress. The main participants of Northeast University are Han Yuexin, Yin Wanzhong, Li Yanjun, Gao Peng, Zhu Yimin, Li Wenbo and Sun Yongsheng.
The project "Pulsed Strong Magnetic Field National Significant Science and Technology Infrastructure", which Northeast University participated in the completion, won the first prize of National Science and Technology Progress. The main participants of Northeast University are Wang Engang from key laboratory in Ministry of Education of electromagnetic process of materials, etc.
The project "Key Technologies and Equipment for Explosion Prevention and Control of Flammable and Explosive Dangerous Substances", which Northeast University participated in the completion, won the second prize for National Science and Technology progress. The main participants of Northeast University are Li Gang and Yuan Chunmiao.
Frankie Leroy Louis, a distinguished professor at Northeastern University, was awarded the International Science and Technology Cooperation Award.
