NEU Held the Autumn Two-way Selection Job Fair for Graduates of 2021
On November 19, NEU held the Autumn Two-way Selection Job Fair for Graduates of 2021 in the Liu Changchun Gym and the Badminton & Table Tennis Gym. More than 1,000 representatives from 356 organizations in 26 provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities directly under the Central Government attended the fair to recruit talents, providing more than 25,000 effective positions for the graduates of NEU, and nearly 4,000 fresh graduates participated in the fair.
Xiong Xiaomei and Zhang Guochen, Secretary and Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of NEU visited the two fair sites to research the development of industries and enterprises and the graduates’ employment situation and expectations under the influence of the outbreak of COVID-19 and know the problems expected to be solved in students’ job seeking process and career development. They also had in-depth communication with the persons in charge of recruitment of the key organizations on latest industrial news, talent demands, university-enterprise cooperation, talent training and other issues. The deans, secretaries of the Party Committee and associate deans in charge of student affairs of NEU’s colleges and schools had extensive discussion with the representatives from various industries based on the graduates' situation and the characteristics of the job market. Relevant persons responsible for students’ career development, class tutors and professional teachers from each college and school gave employment guidance and recommendation to the graduates on the spot.
This two-way selection job fair strictly implemented the overall requirements for epidemic prevention and control, and adhered to the principle of “economical” and “digital”. Organizations applied for attending the fair through the Employment Information Platform of NEU, and at the same time, the electronic code scanning method was adopted in the links of “Organization Sign-in” and “Fair Guidebook Collection”. Electronic contract signing service was provided for the graduates and the organizations on the spot. Both the recruitment personnel and the students were required to wear masks, show their health codes and pass the temperature measurement to enter the venues. Special personnel were arranged to maintain the fair order, disinfect the venues and strengthen epidemic prevention management so as to ensure the safe and smooth holding of the job fair.
Since the commencement of employment work for the graduates of 2021, NEU has held a total of 59 on-line information lectures, 23 group job fairs, and 759 special job fairs. A total of more than 1,300 organizations have carried out on-line or off-line recruitment activities, including Global 500 enterprises of Huawei, Inspur, ZTE, Baosteel, Haier, Midea, FAW, BOE, Geely, CSCEC, AVIC, CRRC, CASC, CASIC and CNNC, as well as state-owned enterprises, China Top 500 enterprises and key enterprises in different industries. At the same time, NEU has strengthened employment guidance for the graduates. It has held a series of career development and employment guidance activities such as “Career Season 2020” and “China Nuclear Power Week” to encourage the graduates to seek jobs in the key industries and fields of China.
