NEU Newly Increased 24 First-class Undergraduate Programs

Recently, the General Office of the Ministry of Education has released the list of national and provincial first-class undergraduate programs in 2020. 12 programs of NEU have been selected as national first-class undergraduate programs, and 12 have been approved as provincial first-class undergraduate programs.

So far, a total of 27 programs of NEU have been selected as national first-class undergraduate programs, accounting for 36% of the total existing programs offered by NEU; a total of 24 programs have been selected as provincial first-class undergraduate programs, accounting for 32% of the total existing programs offered by NEU; 67% of the programs offered by NEU have been successfully selected into the national and provincial “Double Ten Thousand Plan” for discipline construction. Among the 42 existing program categories, 20 have been selected as national first-class undergraduate program categories, accounting for 48% of the existing program categories of NEU, and 21 have been selected as provincial first-class undergraduate program categories, accounting for 50% of the existing program categories of NEU.

During the “14th Five-Year Plan” period, NEU will continue to take the national and provincial “Double Ten Thousand Plan” construction as an opportunity to fully deploy and implement the first-class undergraduate education new pattern of “golden disciplines, golden programs, golden faculty, golden teaching materials, and new engineering-based courses”. NEU will center on star-level undergraduate program construction, aim at standardizing program development, and fully implement the principle of “make a comprehensive plan, optimize structure, improve quality, advance step by step, focus on innovation, and cultivate distinctive features, so as to improve its overall level of undergraduate program construction and comprehensive competitiveness. Moreover, it will strengthen its golden disciplines to lay a solid foundation for the development of characteristic first-class undergraduate education and enhance the quality of talent cultivation.
