Students of NEU at Qinhuangdao Won the First Prize in the 23rd “FLTRP·ETIC Cup” English Debating Competition
Recently, the national finals of the 23rd “FLTRP·ETIC Cup” English Debating Competition was held in Beijing. The debate team composed of Li Zhi and Chen Jiayi, students from the School of Foreign Languages and Cultures of NEU at Qinhuangdao, won the first prize.
The “FLTRP·ETIC Cup” English Debating Competition is sponsored by Beijing Foreign Studies University (BFSU) and Foreign Language Teaching and Research Press (FLTRP), and is co-organized by China Language Assessment (CLA). This time, the competition was divided into three stages, namely on-campus selection, regional semi-final and final. It attracted tens of thousands of debaters from more than 400 universities, including the University of Macau, Shanghai International Studies University, Tsinghua University and Fudan University. The debate team from NEU at Qinhuangdao reached the national final with the outstanding result of ranking 13th&nbsp;in the North China competition area, and Chen Jiayi, a student of NEU at Qinhuangdao, won the title of “Excellent Debater”.
