NEU Won the Championship of the 2026 ICPC (Wuhan) National Invitational Tournament

Recently, the 2026 ICPC (Wuhan) National Invitational Tournament was held at Wuhan University. The ACM Innovation Team, instructed by Liu Xiaofeng from the School of Computer Science and Engineering, NEU won one gold medal and two bronze medals. The team composed of undergraduates Su Kun, Lu Yiheng, and Zhang Tianyi won the championship.

This competition attracted 223 official teams from 184 universities across the country, including Huazhong University of Science and Technology, Nanjing University, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Jilin University, Northwestern Polytechnical University, and Xiamen University. After five consecutive hours of intense programming problem-solving, teams from NEU, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, and Wuhan University of Technology won the championship, runner-up, and second runner-up respectively.

According to the organizers, the ICPC aims to demonstrate college students’ innovation ability, team spirit, and their capacity to write programs, analyze problems, and solve problems under pressure. After 50 years of development, the ICPC has become the oldest, largest, and most influential collegiate competition worldwide; it is widely known as the “Olympics” of the IT industry and is also recognized as a six-star high-level competition in the Classification Table of Student Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competitions of NEU.
