On June 5th, the first 600 kiloamphere (KA) aluminum cell in the world designed by Northeastern University design and research institute has passed the technical evaluation of nearly ten top-level experts in Weiqiao aluminium electricity limited company in Shandong province.

The expert group agreed that the packaged technology of 600 kiloamphere (KA) aluminum cell in the world has firstly put into use in the world, which realized the gas collecting efficiency rate of 99.6% and purification efficiency rate of 99.7%.the aluminum cell average voltage has reached 3.95V and current efficiency has reached 94.6% as well as the direct current consumption has reached 12443kWh/tAl. For six months after the production line has been put into use, it has been operated steadily, which realized efficient, eco-friendly and energy-saving. The technology promoted the scientific and technological progress powerfully boosted the overall technology level and international competitiveness, playing a leading and exemplary role in aluminium smelting enterprises. It was agreed that the project has reached international advanced level and worth to be popularized and applied.
