The second sino-us presidents forum was held in Rice University, Texas State of United States on June 22th. President of Northeastern University ZhaoJi attended the forum on invitation.
This forum was co-hosted by professor David W.Leebron , the president of Rice University and LinJianhua, the president of Peking University. The forum invited nearly 50 presidents of top universities from China and USA. The presidents delivered their advices and suggestions on the cooperation between colleges and universities of two ountries in the fields of energy, disease control, food safety and astronomy. They also talked about topics about digital education, Internationalization talents training and Liberal education.
President ZhaoJi made a speech in the forum. In the speech, he mainly elaborated the reformation necessity of content and means of liberal education as well as interdisciplinary cooperation. He expressed such ideas that it is necessary to change rigid large-scale education of assembly line style into customized education with diversity choices supported by information technology. He also introduced some explorations and his theory on school management, which stroke a chord from participating leaders.
