Recently, the list of winners of the “HEP Cup” CUMCM 2022 was announced. Students from NEU at Qinhuangdao won one first prize and three second prizes.
CUMCM is a mass sci-tech activity sponsored by China Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics (CSIAM) for college students in China. It is a competition item included in the National College Subject Competition Ranking List of China Association of Higher Education. Founded in 1992, the CUMCMis a once-a-year competition. It aims to stimulate students' enthusiasm for learning mathematics, improve their comprehensive ability to build mathematical models and solve practical problems with computer technology. Students are encouraged to actively participate in extracurricular scientific and technological activities so as to expand their scope of knowledge, cultivate their creative spirit and cooperative consciousness, and promote the reform of college mathematics teaching system, contents and methods. A huge amount of people signed up the CUMCM 2022 with a total of more than 160,000 people of 54,257 teams from 1,606 colleges and universities in the UK, Malaysia and other countries.
Attaching great importance to the CUMCM, NEU at Qinhuangdao launched publicity and training for the competition in March, and carried out university-wide selection in July this year. After the reviews by the Hebei Provincial Organizing Committee and the National Organizing Committee , the team of Ji Jiaqi, Li Xuelu and Li Yaohang under the guidance of Liu Jianbo won the national first prize; the team of Jiang Jiamei, Li Xuhan and Hao Xingyu under the guidance of Liu Chao, the team of Zhang Kaifei, Yang Lewei and Ren Danni under the guidance of Zhang Zixuan, and the team of Feng Qiushi, Cui Mengyuan and Li Tianyu under the guidance of Zhang Yanyan won the national second prize. Additionally, another 44 teams won the first and second prizes in the Hebei Province competition area, including14 teams winning the first prize and 30 the second prize in Hebei Province.
