Recently, two students of NEU, Zhang Yuhan and Liu Yuxin, were selected to the national badminton training team. After hard training, they achieved excellent results demonstrating the spirit of perseverance, unity and struggle of NEU students in many competitions.
This year, Zhang Yuhan won the fifth place of women's doubles in the BWF World Junior Championships, the second place of team in the China Badminton A-League 2023, the third place of women's doubles (open group) in the First Student (Youth) Games of the People's Republic of China, the fifth place in the National Badminton Team Championship 2023, and the team champion in the China-ASEAN International Open Badminton Championships. Liu Yuxin won the team champion in the China Badminton A-League 2023.
In recent years, NEU has been attaching great importance to the construction of sports teams. The table tennis team won the first prize in the 12th China College Students’ Sunshine Sports Table Tennis Competition (Northern Division), the korfball team won the fourth place in the China College Students’ Korfball Championship, and the badminton team (Sunshine Team) won the women's team champion and women's doubles champion in the Liaoning College Students’ Badminton Championship 2023. NEU has held "Liu Changchun Cup" series of high-quality competitions every year to enrich the campus sports culture, set off a fitness boom for teachers and students, and contribute sports strength to the construction of a first-class university.
