Recently, Elsevier Group PLC (Elsevier) and its RINENG Engineering Frontier Journal jointly announced the evaluation results of RINENG Distinguished Scientist (DS) Award and RINENG Young Investigator (YI) Award, and Rui Wang, a young teacher from the School of Information Science and Engineering of NEU, was awarded Elsevier’s RINENG Young Investigator (YI) Award.
Rui Wang, Associate Professor, Secretary General of the Energy Storage Technology and Comprehensive Energy Working Committee of the Chinese Association of Refrigeration, was selected for the “Youth Talent Support Project” and awarded the title of “Liaoning Province Positive and Good Youth”. He has long been engaged in the evaluation and control of stable operation of power systems, equipment research and development, research and development of power supply converters for electric vehicles, and deep data mining and model generation based on artificial intelligence.
In the two years since teaching at the School of Information Science and Engineering, he has published 19 top tier IEEE Transactions papers as the first/corresponding author, and 7 highly cited ESI papers. The first author won the best paper awards of IEEE TEC, IEEE ICEI, Global Energy Internet, etc. He has led 16 horizontal/vertical research projects, including the National Natural Science Foundation of China, with a total scientific research investment of over RMB 4 million, and has won the Distinguished Doctoral Dissertation Award from the China Electrotechnical Society. Received the first prize of Natural Science Award from the China Simulation Federation and the first prize of Natural Science Award from the Chinese Association of Automation as the second most accomplished person. In 2023, he guided undergraduate/graduate students to win 6 national first prizes in the National Science and Technology Competition for College Students, with a postgraduate recommendation rate of over 75% for undergraduate students. Three students were recommended to Tsinghua University.
It is reported that this award is jointly organized by Elsevier Group PLC (Elsevier) and its RINENG Engineering Frontier Journal. Every year, no more than 5 well-known technical experts in the engineering field are selected globally to award the RINENG Distinguished Scientist (DS) Award and the RINENG Young Investigator (YI) Award. The purpose of this award is to inspire outstanding young scholars who actively engage in research in engineering technology and related fields, focus on the growth of outstanding talents in the field, promote the development of high-level innovation reserves, and better promote academic exchange and achievement transformation.
