On March 23, the sci-tech exchange meeting between NEU and Guangdong Bright Dream Robotics was held in Room 1401 of the main building, NEU. Wang Kecheng, President of Bright Dream Robotics, and Tang Lixin, Vice-president of NEU, were present at the meeting. Teachers from the Sci-tech Department and other related departments of NEU attended the meeting.
Tang Lixin said that NEU insists on putting the focus of economic development on the real economy, boosting new industrialization, accelerating the construction of manufacturing power and quality power, and promoting high-end, intelligent and green development of the manufacturing industry. The university adheres to the concept of high-quality development, strengthens organized scientific research in accordance with the HSEV scientific research strategy, and accelerates the construction of the manufacturing cycle industrial system with steel and equipment as the core. Based on the typicality of robot R&D and manufacturing in the manufacturing cycle industrial system and the compatibility of advantages of each other, both parties should focus on scene needs, further face key scientific and technological issues such as underlying technology and equipment R&D, continue to strengthen in-depth cooperation, and strive to open up new tracks and create new growth drivers for development.
Wang Kecheng introduced the technological innovation-related situation of the company, and said that as the leading intelligent construction solution provider in the industry, Bright Dream Robotics focuses on the R&D, production and application of construction robots, intelligent engineering equipment and new construction industrialization products. Five core robot systems of the company have achieved full coverage of independent R&D, and a number of technologies have filled the gaps in the field of construction robot. Based on the academic advantages and the leading technologies of NEU in the field of robotics, the company will further strengthen the in-depth cooperation between the two parties in the development of scene robots, R&D of robotic core system and other key directions. Bright Dream Robotics will adhere to “problem-oriented” and “project-driven” methods, and promote all-round cooperation between the two parties in education, science and technology and talent cultivation through industry-university-research cooperation, he said.
During the meeting, Wang Kecheng and his delegation visited relevant laboratories of the School of Mechanical Engineering and Automation and had special exchanges.
