On April 27, the Digital Education Development & Governance Forum of the 6th Digital China Summit was held in Fuzhou (capital of Fujian Province), China. It was sponsored by the Ministry of Education and co-hosted by the Cyberspace Administration of China and the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of China. President Feng Xiating, Vice-president Wang Xingwei, and relevant staff from the Information Construction and Network Security Office of NEU attended the forum.
The forum was themed Digital Education: Collaborative Development and Pluralistic Co-governance. It was the first time for digital education to make its debut at the Digital China Summit. The forum aimed to gather forces from all parties to explore new ways of digital education development and governance, and realize the theoretical and practical guidance for digital education in China. Wu Yan, Vice-minister of Education, Sun Weimin, Chief Engineer of the Office of the Central Cyberspace Administration Affairs Commission and the Cyberspace Administration of China, Chang Bin, Vice-governor of Fujian Province, and Liu Liehong, Chairman of China Unicom attended the forum and respectively delivered a speech.
Academician Feng Xiating, President of NEU, made a keynote speech titled Development Direction of Education Digitalization. Starting from three questions of digital education Why, what and how to change, he prospected the evolution of digital education, and introduced the development trend of digitalization-assisted precise governance of universities, digitalization-assisted cultivation of talents and digitalization-assisted faculty construction. He also shared NEU’s experience in the progress, effect and practice of digital transformation.
