On the afternoon of March 9, the GENERTEC-NEU Cooperation & Exchange Meeting was held in Conference Room 206 of Machinery Building, NEU. Li Xin, Deputy General Manager of Science and Technology Innovation Department of GENERTEC headquarters, He Xinyuan, General Manager and Deputy Secretary of Party Committee of GENERTEC Machine Tool, and Wang Xingwei, Vice-president of NEU were present at the meeting. Relevant leaders of GENERTEC, and concerned heads, experts and scholars from Sci-tech Department, Software College and School of Mechanical Engineering and Automation of NEU attended the meeting.
Wang Xingwei introduced the development of NEU, as well as the advantages and achievements of its mechanical engineering-related disciplines in talent cultivation and scientific research. NEU and GENERTEC Machine Tool have been maintaining a good cooperative relationship. The two parties should build a future-oriented discipline system, promote in-depth industry-university-research integration and interdisciplinary exchange activities, and cultivate a great number of outstanding innovative talents for the country so as to make high-level scientific and technological achievements and strive to achieve new breakthroughs in multiple fields, he said.
With the theme of “Research and Application of High-end CNC Technology”, the head of School of Mechanical Engineering and Automation introduced the development history, main research direction, and existing research basis, achievements and conditions of the school, as well as the direction of cooperation between the school and GENERTEC.
Li Xin said that NEU is a leading university in the industry. The purpose of this visit is to further explore the mode of cooperation between the two parties through in-depth research, achieve new breakthroughs in scientific research, basic research and other aspects, improve the level of versatile talent cultivation, and promote the communication between university teachers and the enterprise with an aim of better facilitating the construction of a first-class university and the all-round and high-quality development of the enterprise, he added.
After the meeting, the GENERTEC delegation visited the National Virtual Simulation Experimental Teaching Center for Mechanical Equipment and the Practice and Training Center for Mechanical Engineering in the School of Mechanical Engineering and Automation. In the virtual simulation laboratory, the GENERTEC delegation experienced the VR teaching of high-end CNC. The delegation highly praised the content displayed, and listened to the report on the research results and application of the Key Project of Machine Tool 04 on the site. In the practice and training center, the delegation visited and investigated such CNC machining and measuring facilities as the vertical machining center, CNC lathes, CNC grinding machines, electric discharge machining tools, and coordinate measuring machines.
