Recently, the 11th International Micro Air Vehicle Competition and Conference (IMAV) was held in Madrid, Spain. Students group of the Northeastern University State Key Laboratory of Synthetical Automation for Process Industries, NEU-MACL, instructed by Professor Liu Tengfei, consisting of 6 students namely Pang Qiang, Niu Bibi, Li Wenjie, Shi Ruiqi, Wu Si, Zhang Zhichen, won the Outdoor Group Championship, becoming the only team who finished all the missions of the competition by itself. This is also the first time Chinese team has won this event since the competition has organized for 11 years.
The 2019 IMAV Outdoor Group Competition was held in Valdelaguna airport located in the south of Madrid. The competition requests competitors to search, locate and deliver targets in short time in an unshaped area of 30 thousand of square meters with three Micro Air Vehicles as a maximum. The NEU-MACL team finished all the tasks with the least time, ranking the first.
The International Micro Air Vehicle Competition and Conference (IMAV) was firstly held in 2009, aiming to test participants’ comprehensive capability on mechanical control and decision making, mechanical design and system integration.
