On March 22th, the opening ceremony of Northeastern University - Hokkaido University Exchange Day was held in Cai Guanshen reporting hall in Hanqing Hall. The participants involved the vice president of Hokkaido University (Japan) NISHII JUNJI, the assistant of its president Wang Xiufeng, the president of Northeastern University Zhao Ji and the vice president Tang Lixin, as well as the heads of International Cooperation and Exchange Office and related departments. In addition, SUGIDA MASAHIKO, Chief Consul of Japanese Consulate in Shenyang, also attended the activity at the invitation.
At the opening ceremony, two universities respectively introduced their development process, dominant disciplines and school running characteristics.
In the afternoon, 37 teachers and students from Hokkaido University enhanced their communication and understanding with teachers and students from Northeastern University through discussion, academic report, visit and other means.
At the exchange day, the vice president of Hokkaido University of JapanNISHII JUNJIawarded Northeastern University’s president Zhao Ji with a letter of appointment as "Ambassador of Hokkaido University".
