Northeastern University's First "International Outstanding Young Scientists Project" Was Approved.

Recently, the China Science and Technology Exchange Center of the Ministry of Science and Technology announced the second batch of "International Outstanding Young Scientists Project" for the year 2018-2019. Professor Somnath Basu recommended by Northeast University "High quality Steel Metallurgical Innovation and Intellectual Induction Base (Cultivation)" was successfully selected. This is the first time our school has been approved the International Outstanding Young Scientists Project.

It is reported that Professor Somnath Basu is a core member of the “High Quality Steel Metallurgy Innovation and Introduction Base”. He is currently working at the Indian Institute of Technology (Mumbai). He has rich field experience and excellent research and development capability in steelmaking, continuous casting, inclusion control and so on. His research team has come to our school to participate in the "2017 International Metallurgical Process Young Scholars Seminar" and the 2018 "Green Metallurgy" International Summer School. At the same time, as a major parter, together with Professor Wang Cong of the School of Metallurgy in our school, he was jointly funded by the BRICS Science and Technology Innovation Framework Program.
