Key Laboratory of Implanted Devices and Interface Science, Liaoning Province
The Key Laboratory of Implanted Devices and Interface Science in Liaoning Province was established in 2015. The laboratory conducts research on the key scientific and technological issues that urgently need to be solved in the process of designing, manufacturing and application for implanted devices in our country. In particular, in this lab advanced interface science and surface engineering techniques are studied and applied in the design and manufacturing process of implanted devices, in order to improve the design level and manufacturing precision of implanted devices in our country and solve the reliability bottleneck that plagues the large-scale application of implanted devices in our country.
The main research direction:
(1) Surface modification of biological materials
Develop surface modification technology for metal-based biomaterials to improve the performance of key components of traditional metal-based biomaterials and implanted devices. The aim is to tap potential for the development of antibacterial materials and traditional implant materials to further improve the performance and technical content of implanted materials, as well as to improve and develop new heat treatment, surface modification and various coating technologies and their automation technologies and equipmen.
(2) Advanced design and manufacturing technology of implanted devices.
The aim includes studying the fatigue failure mechanism and reliability design method of implants, developing high-performance dental implants, orthopedic implants, and spinal implants, and improving the personalized manufacturing and R&D bases of implanted devices.
(3) Biological evaluation of implanted devices
The aim is to study the mechanism of bone bonding in implanted devices, to study the relationship between the activity of bone cells and proteins and the surface of implanted devices, and to grasp the rules for improving the biological activity of implanted devices.
