NEU Students Made Great Achievements in the 9th China TRIZ College Students’ Innovation Method Competition

On November 28, the final of the 9th China TRIZ College Students’ Innovation Method Competition was held in Harbin Engineering University. The final was co-organized by the Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST) and the China Association for Science and Technology (CAST). The national top 12 teams competed for the top 6 through online defense. 3 shortlisted teams from NEU ranked national second, fourth and seventh respectively with excellent results, and won one silver award and one bronze award. Both the number of teams from NEU in the national Top 12 and the number of awards NEU won in the final ranked first among all universities in China.

NEU’s project TRIZ-based Fabrication Process of Super Austenitic Stainless Steel Strip Continuous Casting ranked second in the country and won the silver award. The project was jointly completed by Jiang Qiming, Jiang Yuchen, Wang Chenyang, Jia Zewei and Shan Wenchao, with Zhu Cuilan from NEU’s Academy of Innovation and Entrepreneurship as the TRIZ instructor and Cao Guangming from the State Key Laboratory of Rolling and Automation as the specialized instructor. NEU’s project TRIZ-based Design of Wheel & Track Function Automatic Switch Devices ranked fourth in the country and won the bronze award. The project was jointly completed by Li Hualin, Wang Duo, Hong Zekun, Cao Xingchi and Zhang Yiqian, with Zhu Cuilan from NEU’s Academy of Innovation and Entrepreneurship as the TRIZ instructor and Li Xiaohao from NEU’s School of Mechanical Engineering and Automation as the specialized instructor. NEU’s project TRIZ-based Wearable ECG Detection Devices ranked seventh in the country. The project was jointly completed by Qiu Junxiang, Ma Runxun, An Junwei, Zhang Guilong and Sun Kailiang, with Zhu Cuilan from NEU’s Academy of Innovation and Entrepreneurship as the TRIZ instructor and Meng Lu from NEU’s College of Information Science and Engineering as the specialized instructor.
