According to the Notice on the Announcement of the Filing and Approval of the Undergraduate Programs at General Institutes of Higher Education in 2021 recently released by the Ministry of Education (JGH [2021] No. 14), four new undergraduate programs including Ethnology, Sports Training, New Energy Materials and Devices, and Intelligent Mining Engineering applied by NEU have been approved and filed by the Ministry of Education. For the program adjustment this time, NEU has been demands-oriented and characteristics-oriented. We take the initiative to adapt to the need of building a new development pattern of higher education, cater to the national and regional economic and social development needs, optimize program settings with top-level design, deepen comprehensive reform of programs, and promote cultivation of scarce talents in urgently needed fields. We have achieved the adjustment and optimization of program structure. Up to now, there are a total of 80 undergraduate programs offered at NEU.
Facing the future, NEU will continue to deepen the connotation construction of undergraduate programs, comprehensively implement the hierarchical management system of undergraduate programs, explore and establish an interdisciplinary and distinctive undergraduate program system, and effectively promote the high-quality development of undergraduate education by constructing first-class undergraduate programs.
