Recently, the Department of Science and Technology of Liaoning Province released the Key Laboratory Construction Plan of Liaoning Province in 2021. According to the plan, NEU has been approved to construct three Liaoning provincial key laboratories, namely Liaoning Provincial Key Laboratory of Deep Engineering and Intelligent Technology, Liaoning Provincial Key Laboratory of Safe Operation Technology for Autonomous Unmanned Systems, and Liaoning Provincial Key Laboratory of Structural Dynamics.
These three key laboratories mainly involve resources and environment, electronic information, structural dynamics and other fields. Liaoning Provincial Key Laboratory of Deep Engineering and Intelligent Technology, aimed at national major strategic needs, will carry out theoretical innovation, technical breakthroughs and key software R&D in the field of rock mechanics and safety in deep engineering, break through industrial development bottleneck problems in artificial intelligence + deep engineering, and lead the development of related disciplines. Liaoning Provincial Key Laboratory of Safe Operation Technology for Autonomous Unmanned Systems will provide theoretical and technical support for the transformation of Liaoning's industrial system based on the new generation of information technology, and provide significant technical support for the sustainable development of China's autonomous unmanned systems in the field of safe operation. Liaoning Provincial Key Laboratory of Structural Dynamics will focus on national key issues in the field of space science and technology, and devote itself to predicting and utilizing aeronautical equipment-related structural dynamics behaviors, provide support for the design of new-generation aeronautical structures, and direct the future development of aeronautical equipment and micro-aircrafts.
The Liaoning provincial key laboratories are an important support for NEU to construct a first-class university and develop related disciplines, as well as a significant part of NEU’s scientific and technological innovation system. In recent years, we have been strengthening the construction of scientific and technological innovation bases at all levels and of various types. We insist on paying equal attention to organizing and planning the construction of new bases and the management and operation of existing bases, optimizing the allocation of resources, guiding diversified investment and promoting collaborative progress. In this way, we have provided a strong platform support for NEU to carry out high-level scientific research, introduce and cultivate high-level scientific research talents, build a stable innovation team, and promote theoretical innovation and technological progress in related fields.
The Liaoning provincial key laboratories are an important part of Liaoning's scientific and technological innovation base system, and a critical carrier for gathering and cultivating outstanding academic foregoers and innovation teams to carry out basic science research and applied basic research. In 2021, a total of 57 laboratories were approved to be built.
