On March 14, the research group of Professor Mou Juan and Professor Wang Yandong from the College of Materials Science and Engineering, NEU published a paper entitled " A stabilized martensitic nucleation mechanism in TRIP-reinforced metallic glass composites with fractal structure " online on Acta Materialia, a top international academic journal in the field of materials. The NEU is the first unit of the paper, Zhao Ziyan, the 2019-grade Doctor of the School of Materials Science and Engineering and the current post-doctor of the School of Metallurgy, as the first author, and Professor Mou Juan and Professor Wang Yandong of the College of Materials Science and Engineering as joint corresponding authors. In addition, Advanced Metastable Metal Materials Research Center of NEU, Dalian University of Technology, Argonne National Laboratory and State Key Laboratory for Advanced Metals and Materials of University of Science and Technology Beijing are cooperative research units.

This study not only promotes the fundamental comprehension of fractal structure in TRIP-reinforced metallic glass composites and deepens the understanding of its deformation mechanism, but also provides a novel theoretical support for the design of high-performance materials. The above research is supported by the National Key Research and Development Program of China and the National Natural Science Foundation of China.
