The 4th Youth Academic Conference on Deployable Space Structures was successfully held at NEU from April 18 to April 20. It was organized by the Spacecraft Vibration and Control Committee of the Chinese Society for Vibration Engineering, and co-hosted by the Xi'an Branch of China Academy of Space Technology, the School of Mechanical Engineering and Automation at NEU, the NEU Laboratory of Vibration and Control for Power Equipment (key laboratory of Ministry of Education), and the Space Mechanical Engineering Branch of Shaanxi Provincial Institute of Mechanical Engineering. Over 60 experts and scholars from 23 universities, research academies and institutes, and enterprises nationwide gathered to discuss cutting-edge advancements in spacecraft structural technologies.

On April 19, the opening ceremony took place under the leadership of Song Yanping, Vice Chairman of the Chinese Society for Vibration Engineering and Director of the Spacecraft Vibration and Control Committee. After the ceremony, 11 young scholars, including Professor Luo Zhong from NEU and Senior Engineer Deng Runran from General Design Department of Beijing Institute of Spacecraft System Engineering, delivered keynote speeches on topics such as “New Technologies and Materials for Spacecraft Structures” and “Dynamics and Vibration Control Technology of Spacecraft Structures”, sparking in-depth discussions with experts and scholars presented on the scene.

It is reported that the Spacecraft Vibration and Control Committee of the Chinese Society for Vibration Engineering always attaches great importance to the cultivation and support of young scientific and technological talents. By leveraging the “Youth Academic Conference on Deployable Space Structures” as a key platform, the committee provides young scholars with extensive opportunities for academic exchange and professional development. As a premier national platform for young researchers in spacecraft structural technologies, this year’s conference not only showcased the latest cutting-edge research achievements in deployable space structures, but also fostered interdisciplinary collaboration and research, significantly advancing the integration of technological innovation in aerospace systems with the growth of young scientists, and injecting fresh momentum into China’s ambition to become a global leader in space exploration.
