Recently, Ms. Yang Fuman from the Music Department of the School of Art led the students majoring in traditional Chinese music to the Ethnic Musical Instruments Exhibition Hall of Shenyang Conservatory of Music for practical teaching.
The Ethnic Musical Instruments Exhibition Hall collects nearly 200 pieces of 120 types of characteristic musical instruments from various ethnic groups, covering categories like ancient, modern, imperial, folk and religious music. During the visit, the teachers and students observed precious cultural relics such as Jiahu Bone Flute and the Bianzhong of Marquis Yi of Zeng. Through the professional explanation of Wang Yingying, Director of the Circulation Department of the Library of Shenyang Conservatory of Music, everyone gained a deep understanding of the historical origin and cultural value of these musical instruments, and personally grasped the long-standing musical wisdom of the Chinese nation. During the site interactive communication session, students actively asked questions, verifying the theoretical knowledge learned in class against the physical displays.
After the visit, the students all expressed that this practical teaching activity not only broadened their professional horizons, but also deepened their understanding of traditional music culture, effectively enhancing their recognition of cultural identity.
