At the recent IEEE International Conference on Network Protocols (ICNP 2025), a premier international academic conference in the field of computer networking, the paper "RA-Sketch: A Unified Framework for Rapid and Accurate Sketch Configurations" by Professor Wang Xingwei's team from NEU was honored with the only Best Paper Award. Guo Kejun, a doctoral student from the School of Computer Science, is the first author of this paper. Professors Li Fulian and Wang Xingwei are the co-corresponding authors.

Sketch enables efficient network traffic monitoring, but requires meticulous parameter configuration to achieve a balance between accuracy and memory efficiency. To address this issue, the study proposes a unified RA-Sketch framework. By employing collision simulations based on the Poisson distribution and a hierarchical search strategy, it can quickly and accurately generate memory-optimal Sketch configurations within user-defined error constraints.

It is reported that ICNP is a renowned international academic conference in the field of computer networking. The selection process for its Best Paper Award is exceptionally rigorous, with the honor bestowed only upon the most innovative and influential research achievements. This award not only highly recognizes Professor Wang Xingwei's team for their long-term scientific research achievements and innovative capabilities, but also further elevates NEU's international academic reputation in the field of computer network research.
