NEU Wins the Championship at the 2026 ICPC China Wuhan National Invitational Programming Contest

Recently, the 2026 ICPC China Wuhan National Invitational Programming Contest was held at Wuhan University. The ACM Innovation Team guided by Liu Xiaofeng, a faculty member the School of Computer Science and Engineering of NEU, won one gold medal and two bronze medals in the competition. Among them, the team composed of undergraduate students Su Kun, Lu Yiheng and Zhang Tianyi claimed the overall championship.

This competition attracted a total of 223 official teams from 184 colleges and universities across the country, including Huazhong University of Science and Technology, Nanjing University, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Jilin University, Northwestern Polytechnical University and Xiamen University. After an intense five-hour programming contest, three teams from NEU, Shanghai Jiao Tong University and Wuhan University of Technology won the first, the second, and the third places, respectively.

The ICPC International Collegiate Programming Contest aims to demonstrate college students' innovative thinking, teamwork, and ability to write programs, analyze problems, and find solutions under pressure. After 50 years of development, the ICPC International Collegiate Programming Contest has become the oldest, largest, and most influential collegiate programming competition in the world. It is known as the "Olympics" of the IT world. It is also a six-star high-level competition recognized by NEU's Star-Rated Classification of Student Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competitions.
