NEU’s Zhonghong TDT Team Wins National Championship at the RoboMaster 2026 Competition

From August 4 to 9, the 25th National University Robot Competition—RoboMaster 2026 University Championship (National Competition) was held at the Shenzhen Bay Sports Center (“Spring Cocoon” Stadium). After intense competition through the group stage, knockout stage, and final championship match, NEU’s Zhonghong TDT Team claimed the national championship of this competition. This marks the university’s third time winning the national overall championship of the RoboMaster Competition, following its previous victories in 2019 and 2020.

Prior to the final match, due to multiple rounds of dense and intense confrontations, NEU’s dart launching system suffered a sudden malfunction, posing a huge challenge to the team’s tactical planning. Faculty advisors Lu Zhiguo and Liu Chong led the team overnight to adjust their technical and tactical plan while simultaneously conducting emergency repairs. In the finals, facing South China Agricultural University—an opponent with equally strong overall strength—NEU’s Zhonghong TDT Team fully demonstrated their brave and tenacious competitive spirit, collaborating closely and executing brilliant tactics. Once back in service, NEU’s dart launching system lived up to expectations and became the key factor in securing victory. After dropping the first game, NEU staged a powerful comeback, ultimately defeating their opponent 3–1 to claim the national championship with an undefeated record.

It is reported that the RoboMaster Campus Series, as one of the tournaments under the National University Robot Competition, has long been committed to nurturing science-and- technology innovation talent since its inception in 2013. By establishing a platform for robotics competition and academic exchange, it has delivered over 200,000 young engineers to society, becoming a premier event among academic competitions for general universities across the nation.
