Launch ceremony andsymposium of International Research Center for Unconventional Geomechanics, NortheasternUniversity (NEU) was held in Han Qing Assembly Hall recently. NEUvice-President Wang Jinkuan, NAE member, professor of The Pennsylvania State University, Derek Elsworth,and finalist of The Recruitment Program of Global Experts, Prof. Liu Jishan attendedthe ceremony.
The ResearchCenter will build and develop Unconventional Geomechanics, focusing on the researchof multi physical field coupling problem in nonequilibrium systems, and providetheoretical foundation for unconventional gas exploration, safety mining of gasrich colliery, and other kinds of deep resources exploitation.
