On July 6th, the HBIS NEU Industrial & Technological Research Institute (Institute) unveiled its nameplate and the ceremony was held in Northeastern University International Exchange Center. HBIS Chairman and President of the Institute, Yu Yong and Northeastern University CCPchairman Sun Jiaxue, President Zhao Ji, vice president Wang Jinkuan, professor of Northeastern University, academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering Wang Guodong attended the ceremony.
HBIS NEU Industrial & Technological Research Institute took "practical, opening and sharing, coordinated and facing to the future" as the fundamental principle, attracting top level talents through projects. The institute focuses on solving crucial and fundamental problems that restrict the development of HBIS. The institute focuses on major demands of the nation and steel industry, taking leading industrial innovation and making breakthroughs in front edge of steel industry. Now the institute mainly works on eight areas: mining, pre-iron making, steel making, and rolling technologies, and, product application technologies, new material, AI monitor and manufacturing technologies, R&D platform and education. Facing to the future, the institute is trying to be the most influential and competitive technology research and development platform, and the paragon of cooperation between school and enterprise in industrialization of steel scientific and technological achievements in Chinese steel area, and to be the gathering place and cultivation base of high-end technical talents.
Wang Guodong held the position of the Dean of HBIS NEU Industrial & Technological Research Institute, and the chief engineer of HBIS Qi Jianjun, the director of Northeastern University RAL National Key Laboratory Wang Zhaodong took the position of deputy dean of the institute.
