British robotics experts from institutions, universities and enterprise as UK Trade & Investment Headquarters, Heriot-WattUniversity,Edinburgh, Imperial CollegeLondon, Royal Academyof Engineering, and Open Bionics, etc. visited Northeastern University (NEU) in theafternoon of Nov. 27th, and held a discussion with NEUrepresentatives in Han Qing Assembly Hall. Guo Yufu, deputy director general ofShenyang Technology Bureau and NEU vice-President Wang Jianhua attended thesymposium.
President Wang Jianhua introduced the construction background and conditionsof College of Robotics Science and Technology, NEU. He indicated that thecollege is now hiring dean and professors all around the world, and welcome Britishhigh level research talents to join in. He pointed out that the college alsolook forward to cooperating with British colleges, universities and researchinstitutions in the future.
Prof.Sethu Vijayakumar, RoyalAcademy of Engineering Senior Research Fellow, UK; Dr. Yan Jin, Senior Lecturer from the School of Mechanicaland Aerospace Engineering at Queen’s University, Belfast,UK; Dr Dermot Kerr, Research Fellow from the Intelligent Systems ResearchCentre of Ulster University, UK; Dr. Mark Neal, GroupLeader of the Intelligent Robotics Research Group at Aberystwyth University, UK, gave presentations separately, introduced theirresearch contents and achievements. The two sides discussed the related issuesin depth.
