Recently, the billet electromagnetic half continuous casting technology for high quality magnesium alloy ingot (LFEC)developed by Northeastern University has been put into  mass production. This technology has boosted Wenxi county of Shanxi province set up the first Magnesium alloy electromagnetic continuous casting production line in the world, which achived a high standard of high quality magnesium alloy ingot production with high efficiency and low cost.

The LFEC technology developed by scientific research team of Northeastern University has work out the problems exsited in magnesium products such as stomatal loose, poor quality of the surface and Ingot billet organization bulky, which promotes the

R&D and application of wrought magnesium alloy and its highly processed products.

Up to Now, LFEC technology has achieved industrial application in many enterprises, and more than 15 thousand tons magnesium alloy ingot in various kinds have been  producted with this technology.
