On Aug. 14th,Mr. Shang Xiaolong, Austrlian Embassy political counsellor, visitedNortheastern University (NEU), and met with NEU vice-President Sun Lei at HanQing Assembly Hall in accompany with Fan Binbin, senior manager of theAustralian Embassy in China, as well as directors of NEU InternationalCooperation and Exchange Department and Foreign Studies College.
President SunLei welcomed the guests, and introduced the historical development, presentsituation and characteristics of NEU briefly. He indicated that NEU always payhigh attention on cooperating with Australian universities and researchinstitutions, and look forward to strengthen the exchanges and cooperation.
Shang Xiaolongreviewed the friendly relations between China and Australia, and highlightedthe important role of the university exchange and cooperation to the futuredevelopment of both country. In addition, he thanked NEU for the contributionto promoting the Sino-Australia cooperation.
