Recently,NortheasternUniversityhas started the plan for promoting the development of Liaoningprovince and Shenyang city as well asrevitalizing Northeast China.NortheasternUniversity hascreated three platforms to implement the plan.
Firstly,NortheasternUniversity made a digitalplatform to promote deep integration of normalization and industrialization.Supercomputing and cloud computing platform was constructed to carry outtechnology innovation geared to the need of fields such as equipmentmanufacturing, internet of things and location service with an eye to seize acommanding point in information industry. Meanwhile, medical treatment andhealth big data platform was built together with colleges and universities athome and abroad, famous medical treatment in Liaoning province and science and researchinstitutions, which can enhance innovation ability in the field of health data.Laying the R&D and industrial innovation chain in the territories ofscience data, industry data, manufacturing data and high resolution data thatcan provide key supporting technology for businesses such as internet of thingsin Liaoningprovince, smart city, mobile internet, spatial information application and electroniccommerce.
Secondly,NortheasternUniversity set up aninnovation platform to serve the industrial upgrading. Giving full play to itsdiscipline and scientific researchadvantages, it has set upindustry-university-research–application collaborative innovation system thatdevelops the innovation platform into an engine for industrial upgrading. NEUhas set up a big manufacturing platform integrating R&D, pilot test and achievementtransformation to promote the upgrading of the industrial structure of Northeast China old industrial base. Co-building internationalunited lab and strengthen the communication and cooperation with high leveluniversities in the world, science and technology institutions and relativeenterprises. Enhance the innovation in the disciplines such as materialsscience and information. Science and technology IncubatorParkwill be founded and an incubator of scientific and technological achievementsincorporating innovation and entrepreneurship education,highand new technology pilot test,small andmedium-sized enterprise incubation and entrepreneurship guidance service willbe established. Venture investment fundinvested by government, university and society will be established to providefinancial support for promoting technological innovation and achievements transformation in the newly-developingfields of intelligent robot and 3-D printing .
Thirdly,NortheasternUniversity set up a sharing platformto radiate area development. It promotes the development and sharing of resourceof good quality by enhancing institution-locality and college-enterprisecooperation. It will construct sharing platform with a combination of large-scaleequipment and network information virtual prototype to stimulate and promote capacityfor independent innovation for enterprises. Educational resources will beopened to provide high equality summer courses for university students. Bachelor’sdegree classes for obtaining second academic certificate will be started toserve the unique talents training in Liaoningprovince. Every term 30 visiting scholar in Liaoning province and 100 teachers engage inadvanced studies will be accepted to NEU for training. At the same time, NEUwill cultivate doctoral students together with enterprises in Liaoningprovince which will comprehensively upgrade the total quality of talents in Liaoning province and Shenyang city. Every year NEU will establish100 social practice groups aimed at serving Liaoning’sdevelopment by science and technology among college students.
