Recently, results of MCM/ICM (Mathematical Contest in Modeling/ Interdisciplinary Contest in Modeling), 2014 were published. Of all the teams from Northeastern University (NEU), 1 was awarded as Outstanding Winner, 25 were Meritorious Winner, 63 were Honorable Mention, and 74 were Successful Participant, which is a historic achievement of NEU.
MCM/ICM is a multi-day mathematics competition held annually, during the first or second weekend in February. It is distinguished from other major mathematical competitions by its strong focus on research, originality, teamwork, communication and justification of results. 6775 teams worldwide participated in the competition this year, while only 13 of them were awarded as Outstanding Winner.
