Delegation ofUniversity of Canberra, Australia visited Northeastern University (NEU) on Apr.16th, which headed by Professor Stephen Parker, the president. NEUSecretary of Party Committee, Sun Jiaxue, and vice-President Jiang Maofa metwith the guests in Han Qing Assembly Hall, accompany with principals of NEU GraduateSchool, International Cooperation and Exchange Department, and School of Humanitiesand Law.
Sun Jiaxuewelcomed the delegation on behalf of NEU, and introduced them the basic informationof NEU briefly. He reviewed the high-efficiency and high-quality cooperationbetween NEU and University of Canberra since 2014, and indicated that NEU alwayspays high attention to the cooperation between the two universities. Along withthe constantly deep going consociation on the schools and institutes level ofthe two sides, the university-level cooperation could also be further explored,as well as a wilder cooperation field.
Stephen Parkerintroduced University of Canberra’s current situation, and pointed that NEU isa quite famous university in Australia, meanwhile has many coherence points inmain subjects with University of Canberra. He hoped this visit could help to strengthenthe two universities’ cooperation in the key disciplinary areas, and lookedforward to a much broader cooperation space.
During the followingsigning ceremony, President Jiang Maofa and Stephen Parker signed the “MEMORANDUMOF COOPERATION - Australia and China Center of Public Administration andGovernance (ACCPAG), A collaborative research and professional developmentinitiative between the School of Humanities and Law, Northeastern University,China, And The Institute for Governance and Policy Analysis, University ofCanberra, Australia” on behalf of the two universities.
