Oct. 21st, opening ceremony of Belarussian NationalTechnical University Confucius Institute, first technological ConfuciusInstitute worldwide and the third Confucius Institute jointly established by NortheasternUniversityand BelarussianNationalTechnicalUniversity,was conducted in Minsk, Belarus. President Zhao Ji, vicepresident Zuo Liang, and chief accountant Lu Yanhua of Northeastern University attendedthe ceremony.
Belarus vice-premier Tozik, Chinese ambassador to Belarus Cui Qiming, and presidents of both Northeastern University and Belarussian National Technical University unveiled Confucius Institute nameplate together, and made speeches respectively. They indicated that Northeastern University and Belarussian National Technical University have a long history of cooperation, and each have unique advantages in the field of engineering technology. Establishment of this technological Confucius Institute would make great contributions in talent cultivation and promotion of China and Belarus scientific and technical exchanges. They looked forward intensifying cooperation and friendship of the two universities, even the two countries in the future.
