Professor Zhang Huaguang from Northeastern University was elected as 2014 IEEE Fellow

Institute of Electrical and ElectronicsEngineers (IEEE) announced 300 newly elected Fellow Members of 2014 recently.Professor Zhang Huaguang, Cheung Kong Scholar, was elected for his outstanding achievementand contribution in the field of nonlinear recursive neural network stability analysisand intelligent adaptive control, became the second professor of NortheasternUniversity who was elected as IEEE Fellow after Professor Chai Tianyou, academicianof Chinese Academy of Engineering.


Today IEEE is the world's largestassociation of technical professionals with more than 400,000 members from 160countries in 39 chapters around the world. Its objectives are the educational andtechnical advancement of electrical and electronic engineering,telecommunications, computer engineering and allied disciplines. IEEE producesover 30% of the world's literature in the electrical and electronicsengineering and computer science fields.


The Fellow grade of membership is thehighest level of membership, which is conferred by the IEEE Board of Directorsin recognition of a high level of demonstrated extraordinary accomplishment. Including14 newly elected ones, Chinese mainland has less than 100 IEEE Fellows so far.
