Opening Ceremony of Northeast Region Supercomputer Center Held in Northeastern University Cloud Computing Science and Technology Industrial Park

On Nov. 28^th,opening ceremony of the largest Supercomputer Center of northeast China, NortheastRegion Supercomputer Center, was held in Northeastern University CloudComputing Science and Technology Industrial Park, Shenyang, China. Mr. MengQinghai, vice-director of Liaoning Science and Technology Agency, Mr. HouYongshun, head engineer of Liaoning Environmental Protection Agency, Mr. YangYazhou, deputy mayor of Shenyang City, and leaders of Northeastern UniversitySun Jiaxue, Zhao Ji and Zuo Liang attended the ceremony.

It is reportedthat the computing power of Northeast Region Supercomputer Center reaches up to1.17 quadrillion times/SEC, which is able to meet the requirement of large-scaledata processing, provide fast and high-quality computing service for scientificresearch and high-end equipment manufacturing, bio-pharmaceutical, animationand video rendering, high resolution remote sensing application, etc.
