NEU Achieved Excellent Results Again in the 19th National University Student Intelligent Car Competition

Recently, the national finals of the 19th National University Student Intelligent Car Competition concluded at Harbin Engineering University. NEU achieved excellent results again, winning a total of 8 national first-prize awards and 3 second-prize awards.

This competition was hosted by the Chinese Association of Automation and was divided into 12 categories, including Electromagnetic, Air Cushion, Motorcycle, Off-road, Unicycle, and others. It attracted 2,945 teams from 615 universities across China to register and participate, with 550 teams standing out and advancing to the national finals.

After intense competition, the following teams from Northeastern University and its Qinhuangdao Branch achieved remarkable successes. At Northeastern University, the team of Chaofan Zhang, Junkai Huang, Yibo Zhang, Jiancong Shen, and Zhigao Chen, coached by Shiguang Wen, won the first prize in the iFLYTEK Creativity Group. The team of Tengkai Zhuang, Qifei Wei, Zhaofeng Liu, Yongcheng Li, and Xiaoke Guo, coached by Shiguang Wen and Peng Ji, won the first prize in the Horizon Creativity Group. The team of Tongye Xu, Tianxing Liu, Guowei Xing, Shuo Li, Zimo Huang, and Shuai Yang, coached by Zhiguo Lu and Chong Liu, won the first prize in the TTA Viation Creativity Group. Additionally, NEU teams at Yinhuangdao also shone brightly. The team of Mingjiang Jing, Lize Guan, and Mengyue Bu, coached by Wenyi Sun and Zhengsong Wang, won the first prize in the Hovercraft (Undergraduate) Group. The team of Yuanhao Zhao, Yaoyu Zhang, Yujie Shen, Xinfu Zhang, and Yanbing Lin, coached by Wenyi Sun and Yongtao Wei, won the first prize in the Horizon Creativity Group. The team of Haolin Yan, Mengyue Bu, Zetao Jin, Junhui Luo, and Mingjiang Jing, coached by Wenyi Sun and Le Yang, won the first prize in the Baidu Smart Transportation Group. The team of Zhixiang Xu, Zhihan Chen, and Runze Yao, coached by Wenyi Sun and Deying Gu, won the first prize in the Unicycle Group. Lastly, the team of Zejun Zhu, Kaiyi Yang, and Zelin Fu, coached by Wenyi Sun and Le Yang, won the first prize in the iFLYTEK Creativity Group.

It is reported that the National University Student Intelligent Car Competition is an innovative science and technology competition focusing on intelligent cars. Guided by the principle of "focusing on cultivation, emphasizing participation, encouraging exploration, and pursuing excellence," the competition aims to stimulate university students' interest and potential in scientific research and exploration, and to cultivate their abilities to apply comprehensive knowledge, engage in engineering practice, and exhibit innovative spirits. The competition has been included in the List of National Competitions for University Students in Ordinary Institutions of Higher Learning published by the China Association of Higher Education.
