NEU Won the Gold Medal in the ICPC (Hefei)

The 47th International Collegiate Programming Contest (ICPC) (Hefei) was held at the University of Science and Technology of China (USTC) on November 19-20. The three teams supervised by Liu Xiaofeng from NEU’s College of Computer Science and Engineering won one gold award and two bronze awards respectively, among which the team of Wang Leyan, Chen Jinsui and Xiang Hui from the Software College won the gold award.

The contest was organized by the ICPC Asia Regional Committee and presented by USTC. Conducted online, it attracted 502 teams from 266 universities including Tsinghua University, Peking University, Zhejiang University, Shanghai Jiao Tong University and NEU.

The ICPC is recognized as a programming contest with the largest scale, highest level and most participants in the world, and known as the Olympics in the IT industry. It aims to show college students' innovative ability, team spirit and capacity to write programs and analyze and solve problems under pressure. At present, it has developed into the most influential programming competition for college students worldwide. It is also a 6-star competition identified by the Star Classification Table of NEU for Students’ Extracurricular Academic Science and Technology Competitions.
