Recently, the results of the 2021 MCM/ICM were announced. Students from NEU won one Outstanding Winner award, 6 Finalist for Outstanding Winner awards, 17 Meritorious Winner awards, and 61 Honorable Mention awards, which are the best results in recent years.

It is reported that MCM/ICM, sponsored by the Consortium for Mathematics and Its Application of the US, is the only and most influential international mathematical modeling competition in the world. The competition was first held in 1985, covering fields including economy, management, environment, resources, ecology, medicine and safety.
